— ii. The cottage A second, smaller house

A separate cottage,
set across the pool deck.

A self-contained dwelling finished to the same standard as the main house, with its own kitchen, living area, and ten dining seats. Designed with a family of up to four children in mind — the bunk room sits behind the kitchen, with its own bathroom, while the master bedroom opens to a veranda mirroring the main house.

iv. — The Cottage Master

Double sinks, a tub and shower, and a bedroom that opens onto its own veranda — spectacular views of the ocean from the bed. The dark wood floors and bright white walls reflect the unique hues of light off the surrounding water.

— iii. The grounds Pool, cabana, beach

A pool deck between
the houses — and the bay beyond.

— The pool, palm-shaded
vii. — The Pool Ensemble

A shallow pool, palm-shaded, by night a tropical fairy tale.

The pool is the common ground between the main house and the cottage — a shady refuge from the beach by day, a spectacular setting at night. Fifty-five inches deep, the regulation depth for standing in the water and holding a cool drink above the surface. Steps in at one end. Padded chaise lounges around. Indirect lighting turns the whole ensemble into a quiet stage once the sun is down.

— The private bay
viii. — The Beach & The Bay

A bay-protected stretch with paddleboards waiting.

The cabana opens directly onto the sand. Paddleboards are kept here for when the water is calm — at high tide, the Lazy River along the coast is the best place to drift, and Hoopers Bay (a short ride away) is where the sea turtles swim. The boundary of the Moriah Harbour Cay National Park lies just offshore.

— iv. The architecture Contemporary colonial, on the bay

Two Bahamian traditions,
quietly combined.

Woodstar blends two distinct styles of Bahamian architecture. The first is the Bahamian clapboard cottage — quaint and cozy, the style abundant in Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, designed to keep cool with large windows, high ceilings, and shutters that direct the trade winds inside. The second is the colonial house, brought to the islands by early British estate owners — thicker walls, light pastel colours that reflect the heat. The Woodstar design combines the best of both. Bright white walls offset dark wood floors and cabinetry, reflecting the unique hues of light off the surrounding ocean.
